Biblia Chora Areti Red

The ‘noble’ grape aghiorghitiko escaped as the first of his kind, the region of Nemea and spread around the whole country. In the vineyards of Biblia Chora on Crete aghiorghitiko has found himself a very comfortable place to stay. The grape has matured approximately 12 months, which gives the wine a full character. The black berries and pepper gets the Areti Red to another level. Tastes of sourness are often not included in wine of southern Europe but the Areti Red has some of those tastes present. Patience is certainly being awarded. In a few years this Greek hotshot is even more irresistible.

About the winemakers

For many centuries the Pangeon area, located just 40 kilometres from the historic Kavala, has been known for its wonderful soil from which the finest grapes are born. After merchants made their way into the region, the special grape known as ‘Biblia’ was produced. To honour this region Vangelis Gerovassiliou en Vassilis Tsaktsarlis chose to take the name ‘Biblia’ and intertwine it with their winehouse: Biblia Chora. This worked out great, because of the mediterranean climate Biblia Chora produces aromatic, tasteful and intense wines. With lots of variations. Not only do the wines taste fantastic, the estate is also worth visiting!
