Gerovassiliou Avaton is a wine that impresses novice wine drinkers, but at the same time appeals to experienced wine lovers. One of the most elegant wines in our range. This wood-aged red wine is a blend of the Limnio, Mavroudi and Mavrotragano varieties. Limnio, which occupies the largest part, is one of the oldest Greek wine grape varieties (5th century BC). In this wine, aromas of ripe dark fruit, raisins, coffee and cocoa come together in perfect harmony. Nicely rich and round. A wonderful discovery.

About the winemakers

Only 25 kilometres away from Thessaloniki is the Ktima Gerovassiliou vineyard. A true family vineyard. In 1981 Vangelis Gerovassiliou decided to revive the family vineyard with the support of his wife Sonia Tziola-Gerovassiliou. The motivation for this renovation? Love, passion, knowledge and experience for these fine wines. Their love and passion for wines has influenced even the children of Vangelis and Sonia, the second generation. After finishing their education, they came to work for the family company. With their new knowledge and fresh ideas they now produce together with Vangelis and Sonia wines of the highest quality with characteristics of the beautiful region. It did not stop there for Vangelis. In 1998 he developed together with Vassilis Tsaktsarlis the winehouse Biblia Chora.
